Futaba SkyLeaf Leader ACE – Competition F3A Aircraft
The Futaba SkyLeaf Leader ACE is the latest evolution of Futaba’s highly successful SkyLeaf Leader series, developed specifically for the demands of modern F3A precision aerobatics.
Designed by Yuhei Suzuki and developed and tested by Futaba F3A Team pilots Tetsuo Onda and Yuhei Suzuki, the Leader ACE represents a major development of the proven SkyLeaf Leader A1+. The aircraft has been designed with both current and future P and F schedules in mind, providing a highly refined platform for pilots competing at the highest levels of F3A.
Developed for Modern F3A
A major focus of the Leader ACE development is its newly designed wing geometry. Futaba has combined different aerofoil thicknesses between the centre and tip sections together with revised sweep and other aerodynamic refinements to optimise the characteristics of the wing throughout its span.
The aircraft has a design flying-weight range of 5,000–5,400 g, providing flexibility when selecting power systems, batteries and radio equipment. Revised cooling outlets positioned towards the rear sides of the fuselage also improve airflow and cooling for the motor and associated power-system components.
The Leader ACE is available in three distinctive factory pilot colour schemes, designed to provide excellent presentation and visibility in the aerobatic box, together with a white-finish version for pilots wishing to create their own scheme.
